Smear test results Nov 21

Hello,

Just wondering how long peoples smear results are taking to come back this time of year?

I've had my repeat one last week after last years found HPV. Hoping it's clear so I can go back to longer between them!

I was the same as *@stEval* had smear on 22/11. Received a letter in post yesterday to give me all clear, so may depend on region and if the cells are normal or not

I got my letter yesterday also. 12 days

It depends on area as there are regional labs. I'm south east and our results are coming back in less than 2 weeks. I say 2-4 weeks to patients. We get the result before they get the letter.

Hi lady’s hope your all well I had my smear test on 10th of November 2021 so 4 weeks tomorrow still no results witch is making me worry soo god dam much anxity overload I’m in Manchester salford area

I feel sick every time I hear the post come through the letter box
Can't relax until it's been so I know I won't have the anxiety again until the next day
It pisses me off when you see all those posts 'it's just 5 mins go for your smear'
The 5 mins is the easy part! It's the weeks and weeks of waiting for the post !

Are U still waiting @fedup078 I know how u feel my docs said 2-3 then 2-4 now sick didn’t have post at all yesterday was like more waiting been checking my patient doc app nothing ringing docs nothing nurse said when spoke to her yesterday of not had out by 6 week she will chase oh grate so more waiting and woundering

@Lhmym I had mine on 15th and was told 2 weeks
But it was nearly 2 months last year

IME, results have never been as quick as two weeks. I grew mine after abut a month, which was around a month ago, but I'd already been seen by the GP and referred to gynae in that time because the nurse spotted a cervical polyp. (The smear itself was clear.) No idea when I'll actually be seen at the hospital - apparently it may be months.

Am guessing then am in for bloody long wait then I had border line changes and hpv in 2012 after birth of my middle child then 2015 normal 2018 normal now waiting on this one shiting a brick is an understatement

Completely understand the anxiety Have you got your GP records via the NHS app? My results popped up in the app after 8 days. I think its the letters taking the time.

@StEval ye I have the my gp app on phone and the patient access one to same thing lol and both are just showing that I have had a smear done on 10th November not holding my breath for it to be back this side of 2021 😂

Omg I just had a letter from cervical screening thinking it was my result obviously but it was a bloody reminder dated 1st Dec when I attended 15th November! 😡

I rang my docs over it but said just ignore it I thought well y am I still geting reminders if already had it done doesn’t make no sence at all my doc said now it’s 4-6 wait and there’s a back log x

Got my results today (10 days after smear) on the nhs app.
Negative smear but positive for HPV so back next year for a repeat! Urrghhh

@kathryn0812 hopefull your immune system will fight it of naturally or maybe some immune multi vits will kick it in to touch I started taking vits prob not worked like we’re in country are u am Manchester been waiting like 4 week yesterday still nowt today x

@Lhmym I'm in Cambridgeshire. I take vitamins anyway everyday so not sure what else I should be taking. Next year will be my third so hopefully it'll be clear then. 🤞🏼

Eight and a half weeks and still waiting. I phoned to chase up twice and both times they’ve said it would be sent ‘in a day or two’. I can only hope that if it is a bad result they’d send it with a little more haste!

I've already been taking ACHH but I'm gonna look into other vitamins etc
It's expensive but I'll try anything to avoid another lletz

I think trying to boost your immune system is all you can do really - I take high strength vitamin D, zinc and a multi vit but think I might get some ACHH and turmeric too.

I was also taking Holland and Barrett Advanced Immune support pretty much since I got the results last year
Obviously it hasn't worked and it's cost me a fortune
I really thought I was done with this shit!

Mine have just come back omg I’m hpv positive but doc will ring me Monday am sooo worried

@fedup078 I got mine back today to hpv positive but doc won’t speak with me till Monday this is what it says on my records don’t mention cells tho

@Lhmym maybe start a new thread and see if anyone can tell you what that means
