Bloated, crampy now very high CA125. Quite literally shitting it.

I saw the doc who did blood tests and booked a scan (late next week) but tonight she phoned and said the CA125 result is back at >1000 (normal level

Better than I feared..! No obvious signs of cancer. Something rotten is going on, possibly heart or maybe bowel, which is causing fluid to accumulate so urgent referrals to further investigate but, tbh, I’ll take anything over ovarian cancer.

Turns out that anything is NOT better than ovarian cancer if it is a cancer of unknown origin that has spread into the abdomen…. More tests etc but this is not good news.

That's shit. What sorts of tests and how long will they take?

Ultrasound to get a biopsy of the ascites fluid and of the ‘growth’ (euphemism#1). Within 2 weeks but everything else has been amazingly fast so hopefully soon.

Fingers crossed you have some answers and a plan very soon!

Oh goodness. Hope the appointment comes through quickly and you can get a treatment plan in place asap.

Thanks both-biopsy’s done and now waiting for an answer as to where the cancer originated then move to a plan under whichever team ‘owns’ the cancer of origin.

Do you know how long it will take to do the tests?

Yes, uncertainty is awful. Although maybe you feel a bit mixed about knowing too.

Oh OP. It's good that the oncology team is poised and ready to come up with a plan of attack once those results come back. Here's hoping you get answers very soon
