I was reading the thread on having a Large Stomach and realised I had similar feelings…

I saw the doc who did blood tests and booked a scan (late next week) but tonight she phoned and said the CA125 result is back at >1000 (normal level

Good luck for tomorrow. Thinking of you.

MrsWooster · 26/11/2021 13:47

Better than I feared..! No obvious signs of cancer. Something rotten is going on, possibly heart or maybe bowel, which is causing fluid to accumulate so urgent referrals to further investigate but, tbh, I’ll take anything over ovarian cancer.
Thanks everyone for your support and good wishes-without wishing to go full Blanche DuBois, the kindness of strangers is an amazing thing.

Oh phew. So relieved for you! Hope you get a diagnosis and treatment sorted soon for whatever is going on.

AnyFucker · 26/11/2021 16:11

Glad the worst has been ruled out and they are investigating further Flowers

MrsWooster · 04/12/2021 11:51

Turns out that anything is NOT better than ovarian cancer if it is a cancer of unknown origin that has spread into the abdomen…. More tests etc but this is not good news.

Flowers

That's shit. What sorts of tests and how long will they take?

MrsWooster · 04/12/2021 13:35

Ultrasound to get a biopsy of the ascites fluid and of the ā€˜growth’ (euphemism#1). Within 2 weeks but everything else has been amazingly fast so hopefully soon.

Cloudyzebra · 06/12/2021 18:20

Fingers crossed you have some answers and a plan very soon!

SergeiL · 08/12/2021 16:56

Oh goodness. Hope the appointment comes through quickly and you can get a treatment plan in place asap.

MrsWooster · 08/12/2021 17:13

Thanks both-biopsy’s done and now waiting for an answer as to where the cancer originated then move to a plan under whichever team ā€˜owns’ the cancer of origin.

OP posts:
AuntieStella · 08/12/2021 17:22

Do you know how long it will take to do the tests?

This must be such a tough time.

SergeiL · 08/12/2021 17:24

Thank goodness they are moving fast.

AnyFucker · 08/12/2021 17:30

Jesus. I hope you get some answers very soon. You must be beside yourself. X

SwanShaped · 08/12/2021 17:36

God that sounds so stressful. Do you have people looking after you?

MrsWooster · 08/12/2021 17:38

It’s an absolute bastard.
Knowledge is power so knowing what/where/etc next week will help.

SwanShaped · 08/12/2021 18:49

Yes, uncertainty is awful. Although maybe you feel a bit mixed about knowing too.

MalbecandToast · 11/12/2021 08:09

Oh OP. It's good that the oncology team is poised and ready to come up with a plan of attack once those results come back. Here's hoping you get answers very soon Brew

WoodenReindeer · 11/12/2021 08:12

Thinking of you xxx

NOTANUM · 11/12/2021 08:14

Wishing you well and keeping my fingers crossed for you. I hope you’ll get those results as quickly as you can.

SergeiL · 13/12/2021 12:22
