Irregular periods after stopping breastfeeding

Hi there, wondering if anyone has advice on this?

My daughter was born Sept 2019- I went back on the pill (microgynon) that I was taking beforehand.

April 2021- stopped taking pill to start TTC. But my periods did not return, thought it must be because I was breastfeeding.

Sure enough, I stopped BF when daughter turned two (Sept 2021)- a few weeks later, I ovulated and then had period. Was relieved to finally be "back in the game" after many months of being in limbo!

Since having that period (mid Oct) nothing has happened. I thought that I may have ovulated at end of Oct (due to cervical mucus around the time I would expect to ovulate, although ovulation stick was negative...).

Then earlier this month (Nov) I had some tiredness, more cervical mucus and some headaches, which I thought might mean period was about to start...or that I might be pregnant. But two recent tests have been negative.

I know cycles can take a while to settle down when periods return, and everyone is different. But it seems weird (to me) that the first cycle got kicked off pretty soon after I stopped BF, and now I just feel like I'm in limbo again.

Any ideas/advice would be appreciated! Thanks :)

How old are you? They should have returned if you've completely stopped.

Might be worth a Gp trip?

Peri menopause? I would definetly ask for a blood test to check horomone levels.

@EuromamaAussiekids like your user name! Appreciate suggestion. Sometimes it's hard to know when to contact GP but sounds like it might be time to do so...
