I have been on the implant for 2.5 years now (not sure if this would have an effect) it's made my periods at the start constant, in the middle every 8ish weeks and recently I can have a period, stop bleeding then start again a few days later sometimes (generally this was after sex)

My last proper period about 1.5 months ago I bled very heavily on one afternoon to the point it filled the tampon and soaked through my jeans it was a scary amount I have never in my life bled that badly so that has worried me and was a bit clotty when I went to the toilet.
I for the past week have bled every time I have had sex, bright red blood that stops after, I also get stomach and back pain for a few hours after.
I've previously had an abnormal smear however haven't had one since before lockdown I am trying not to worry myself, I have a doctors appointment booked for today but it's just a telephone appointment.
Has anyone else had this experience? Could it be due to the implant nearly ending?
