Spotting instead of withdrawal bleed?

I have been on microgynon 30 for a while now. I stopped taking it for the past week for my pill free break. Normally within 2 days AF (3 days at the latest) arrives and it is always pretty heavy. It's been one week and AF hasn't come but I have had some spotting here and there for two days along with cramping/pain.

Bear in mind I've been taking microgynon 30 for 8 years now and I always have heavy flows, so this is the first time my flow isn't heavy and I really don't understand why?

Have you had a covid jab recently? I had one bleed like that after my second jab but been fine since.

I had my second jab back in July.

Been quite a while then so probably not. Are you near menopause? Could be a sign of thinning of the uterus lining? See what happens next time and speak to gp if it's not normal for you.

I'm only 25 so I hope not! Thank you for your advice, I'll wait to see what happens next time then head to my GP if it's still not back to normal.

Oops, sorry not likely to be menopause then! Have you done a pregnancy test? Could be implantation bleeding with the cramps.

Lighter bleeding is normally a less worrying symptom than abnormal heavy bleeding.
