Hello. Just wondering if anyone has experience of PID and could share?
I went to sexual health clinic on Monday, very anxious that my copper coil had moved and could cause infertility - this was because I was getting some cramps and a bit of bleeding/bloody discharge (sorry!) 10 days before my period due, which is normally quite regular.
I'm now worried I completely freaked out about quite mild symptoms...I recently split up with my partner who didn't want kids but I would like to and worry I'm getting too old so probably affecting judgment.
The doctor examined me, said I would be in a&e with the pain if coil had moved so that was fine, and took swabs to test for infection. She also pressed around the area and did a manual examination, none of which caused pain. She said I had some but not many inflammation cells, so as a precaution would put me on antibiotics for STDs and pelvic inflammatory disease. All the STD tests came back negative the next day.
PID can't specifically be tested for but I now think I may be on a two week course of quite strong antibiotics for what could just have been a very early period 
. On Wednesday and Thursday I had enough bleeding to use a tampon, although much lighter then normal. And no pain or discomfort since Monday.
I've tried to speak to someone to find out if I should still be taking the antibiotics, they said a doctor would call back but hasn't. Seems like quite a long serious course to complete if I don't need them (that seems to be affecting my digestion and energy levels). When I read the list of PID symptoms, feel like the only one really was some unexplained bleeding, which now could be a period and explain the mild pain. But also it says symptoms could be mild and people don't know they have it so maybe I'm very lucky something was caught?
Just wondered if anyone had experienced anything like this?! 
Also wondering how much to stress about what seems like early period but that's a whole other thing
