Dear all,
Does this sound like perimenopause or something to be concerned about.?
So in early 2020, I started having bleeding between periods. Contacted the GP who organised an ultrasound of uterus area, which came back normal. Then September 2020, I started with bad anxiety and insomnia. Went to my GP because I thought it sounded like perimenopause (after researching on internet), they tested FSH levels several times and all came back normal.
Then I went back again because I couldn't cope with the insomnia and he prescribed Amitriptyline (which has been a godsend for my sleep issues) and did blood tests for my oestrogen levels. As far as I'm aware these also came back normal
Sometimes I get a recurrence of the insomnia but only around the time my period is due. I had a period literally seven days ago and I am now (as of early this morning) having a fairly heavy bleed again, along with the usual menstrual symptoms of bloating, tearfulness etc.
I have sent a message to my GP surgery (as it is a nightmare to try and ring them) but I am also very concerned as when I looked this up on the internet it said it was a cause for concern
Can anyone advise that has been through perimenopause/menopause?
