I have a very itchy vulval skin condition which requires steroid use. At the moment the skin is broken.
I had a telephone consultation and I have been asked to carry out a self administered swab test.
Anyone else come across this?.
Obviously I can't do a high swab so it seems quite daft
Thoughts please

Our practice do occasionally ask for women to do their own swabs, it is getting more common. Most women are happy to do it themselves rather than go through the faff of waiting for an appointment. If you aren’t happy to do this could you ask to be booked in with the practice nurse to do it for you?

Thank you. I am OK doing it but it just seemed odd.
