Vagina problems after having a baby

Hi all,

I had my baby 5 months ago and had quite a traumatic delivery, ventouse was attempted twice and then ended up with forceps and an episiotomy.

Since delivery I've felt really quite uncomfortable down below and when standing and carrying baby around feel like a pressure sensation.

I went to the gp about 2 months ago who said it all looks fine and healed.

I've been doing my pelvic floor exercises several times a day and thought they were going well!
Tonight I have placed a finger inside my vagina (sorry tmi!!) And tried to do my exercises and honestly there is no movement at all when I am doing them?!

What on earth do I do now?

Hey,

If you can afford it I would see a womens health physio therapist for a Mummy MOT/ postnatal check, I’ve recently had one and honestly learnt so much and in my experience the GP just wants to make sure there’s no infection and nothing is protruding out, everything else just gets a ‘it’s common’.

I was advised to get something called a pelvic floor educator (about £15 from Amazon, brand Neen) it basically moves when you’re doing them correctly and can then practice to hold them up to the 10 seconds and can watch the probe type thing to make sure it stays in place and you feel the release. It’s manual so doesn’t do them for you which personally I prefer.

Hope that helps! I’m only 7 weeks PP but was absolutely beside myself after birth and my episiotomy has not been done well! X
