Polyps removed and a d&c - what was your recovery like

I had this 7th September and have been bleeding ever since. I had three weeks of quite light and then sudden heavy floods but nothing too bad. This week however has been horrendous. Really heavy flooding with lots of clotting and cramping. I have read the first period after a d&c can be like this, and just wondered if this is what others have experienced.
I am anaemic anyway and am feeling pretty rotten. I was planning on phoning gynae next week, just in case if I did this week they'd say it's just a period. I think I may phone my gp tomorrow though as the drs where I had the procedure have asked them to keep on top of it, and I've not heard anything. I am taking an iron tablet every or every other day.
I am so fed up of bleeding. I have pretty much bled every day since April this year.

I would call the doctors where you had this done asap rather than your GP.

Did they not consider endometrial ablation instead of a D & C?. I found this was the only method employed that actually stopped my heavy and continuous peri menopausal bleeding.

They did, but after reading up on it, I decided against having that procedure. I have fibroids as well and apparently they mean I am not a candidate for ablation.
The reason I didn't phone up sooner was after reading various websites about it, they all said it would a be a few weeks of light bleeding and then a heavier than usual period. Today, my body has decided there will be no bleeding! We shall see how that goes for the rest of it.
