Hello there!
I need a hand hold pleaseConfusedMy 32 year old much loved daughter has had violent stomach pains for the last 24 hours and has now been advised to go to A&E where she has arrived.
I have been trying to persuade her to go all day and she has finally gone.
I'm worried sick as she has had bleeding from her bottom for the last year (wouldn't do anything about it despite me constantly nagging)but finally has a video call booked at the hospital for 2 weeks time after the GP referred her.
I live 91 miles away from her and she has been told it's 6/7 hour wait tonight and she's in agony-she also has mental health problems and is very distressed-l feel intensely worried about her and really worried this is something awful-l just need a hand hold really tia

I'm so sorry to hear this. I'm sure someone will come along with something helpful and knowledgeable to say, but didn't want you to think no one had heard 💐

So sorry you are worried and your daughter is suffering.

She is getting help now. There are many things her symptoms could be, including Inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's or ulcerative colitis).

I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in my late 20s but had been having symptoms, including the bleeding, for at least a year or two. I was scared and embarrassed. Your daughter may be feeling the same.

I hope she gets seen soon. In the meantime, try not to worry too much and be there to emotionally support her.

Handhold for you here.

And I should add that there are many very good treatments for IBD now.

Thank you so much.
Her blood tests show inflammation so she is having an ultrasound now.
What really upsets me is-she rang her GP yesterday morning and the receptionist told her that there was no doctor to phone her back for the whole day and she should ring the pharmacist!!
I dread to think how people are coping with serious illness at the moment😞
