Watery period

Hello,

Just looking for some reassurance really.

I have pcos, and usually have heavy periods. About 3 or 4 years ago, they became ridiculously heavy and I was referred to a gyne who did a hysteroscopy, and a biopsy, and I was told this was hormonal and due to an increase in estrogen. I am overweight.
My cycles have previously been irregular, in the last 6 months or so they have become more regular. I had some blood tests recently to rule out menopause, as I thought I may be in the perimenopause. These tests came back normal.

So, on to today. I think I have started my period but instead of the usual very heavy first day, I have had instead a very watery period, a few bright red spots but the pad looked more red water filled (sorry!). Usual cramping but I usually get period poo near my period and this has been absent.

So, tomorrow I will call my gp, but has anyone else experienced this? I am 41.

Yep. It was like peeing fresh blood. I had fibroids and endometriosis. I became quite ill with anemia as result as it was so heavy. Get it checked out.
