Feel like womb is swollen during ovulation

I’ve just stopped taking the pill after 20 years. I had a period about 2weeks ago so I’m assuming I’m ovulating.

I’ve got this swollen feeling, low in my abdomen and I can feel slight pressure when I sit down. I’ve had similar feelings before but it feels more pronounced this time.

Is this due to ovulation? Anyone else get these kinds of symptoms? There’s no pain, just feels like I can feel my womb and am very aware of it!

Not sure if similar but I've had a few ultrasounds over the years for abdomen discomfort that feels like pressure and something pushing against my lower abdomen wall, and also left ovary pain. Nothing found. Had last scan last month and now the feeling has stopped again so no idea whether to go back.

Do you get it around ovulation time?

So is this something I need checked out? It’s not a new feeling for me - I just wondered if it felt more pronounced as I’d just come off the pill?

My ovary pain is around ovulation time. It was extremely painful at one time but eased off.

The pressure comes and goes over the years but I don't think I timed it to my cycle as I thought it felt like what a hernia might feel like . Be interesting to see if anyone else gets a pressure feeling.

Hi op, I came off the pill about a year ago and have experienced the same sort of feeling that you’re describing ever since. It starts on about day 7 of my cycle, lasts for about a week and gets more pronounced as the week goes on. Then it clears up and my period starts two weeks later!
It’s not a pain as such, more a feeling of fullness in my pelvis.I can feel it most when I’m walking quickly and if I sit down heavily I can even feel it in my bum.
It really worried me for a few months but as the feeling completely clears up after a week I’ve kind of assumed it’s nothing too serious!

Yes, that sounds like me - kind of like a fullness low down and I feel like i have to be careful not to sit down too hard or the bit that feels full will hit against the seat as I sit down. I can’t really describe what I mean.

@ScarlettDarling did you get back ache with it too?

No, I don’t get back ache. Have you still got the feeling now? If it doesn’t pass then it’s probably worth getting checked out but I think the fact that it’s started straight after coming off the pill is probably reassuring...this will be the first time your body has ovulated in a long time! With me it also started the first month I came off the pill and a year later I still get it every month.

I had this when I stopped the pill too... I went to GP as thought I had a urine infection. Felt very tender and swollen. It did pass.
However, I'm mid 40s now, and I do now regularly get ovulation pain mid cycle which I never used to get before.

Justonemorecurlywurly · 26/09/2021 21:40

The back ache has passed.
Yes, I’m reassuring myself with the fact I’ve just stopped the pill and my body is probably pumping out eggs😆

Hmmm, still got the swollen feeling and the back ache is back. Can’t tell if the back ache is related or just due to bad posture…

Um, ok, here’s where I sound like a complete idiot…when I said in my OP that I’ve had this sort of feeling before but less pronounced, I meant while I was on the pill. I also used to get EWCM every month when I was on the pill. I assumed this was all due to ovulation but of course it can’t have been because you don’t ovulate on the pill!!!! Can you still get ovulation symptoms on the pill without ovulating??? What is this all about?? So confused. And I’ve been bloating on and off since yesterday too to add to my symptoms.

Sorry to keep posting… think the swollen feeling has subsided. But the back ache is getting worse. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not in agony but I can’t seem to sit comfortably unless on a very firm chair. It’s ok when I walk around but laying or sitting is uncomfortable. Can coming off the pill cause this??
