Biology fear

Hi there. I've never posted before but I had a biopsy on Monday after finding a lump. I've been told it's 3cm and they are very concerned. Doc discussed taking it away or mastectomy. I had been on my own and am very confused. I have a follow up booked with my DH in 2 weeks with a consultant to discuss my biopsy which she said will be discussed in a meeting. They asked me details of my kids ages before I left and now I'm petrified. Anyone else had a similar situation?

The tissue they took for the biopsy will be examined under a microscope and the results will be returned to the breast team and discussed at the multi disciplinary team meeting. This is so they get a range of views on the results and so they agree a treatment plan if one is needed.

Try not to google and try not to worry, there are different things it could be and treatment is very good now.

Thank you for your reply. Just realised I put biology fear and not biopsy fear Confused. I feel stuck in a limbo as I don't know what to expect and I can't sleep.

I’d speak to your GP about something to help take the edge off whilst you wait. Mine offered me tablets but I didn’t need them.
If you do have cancer and need to have treatment then you spend a lot of time waiting for appointments and things to start. It’s difficult not to worry but maybe call the Macmillan advice line if you are struggling.
