Light brown discharge

I am 46 and my cycle has got shorter in the last year. However, over the last month I have a light brown discharge in between periods. I would get this for a short while after my period previously. No other symptoms.
I am due a smear and last time there was a polp and with lockdown I assume it may still be there. I have had one previously which vanished.
I have now got myself into a panic.
I will make an appointment I am just wondering if this is the peri making an appearance.

Oh, how weird. I used to be day 28/29 but am now getting my period on my day 25 - with a discharge around day 21. I wondered if it might be peri getting a head start. I'm 41. Will watch with interest what you find out!

Yes that is my cycle has changed. It was always 28 days previously like clockwork.
