Could I be pregnant or just the covid vaccine?

I had unprotected sex on the 13th July and then had my first covid vaccine 3 days later on 16th July. And I haven't had a period since weirdly. I'm about to miss 3rd period!!
I took a cheap pregnancy test exactly two weeks after I had unprotected sex to make sure I wasn't pregnant and it was negative.
Is there still any chance I could be pregnant (I'm single and haven't had sex any other time than 13th July 😂) or is it just the vaccine causing me to miss periods??

Have you not taken further pregnancy tests?
You could have been too early when you did the one 2 weeks after sex

Bells3032 · 11/09/2021 09:33

I haven't heard of the vaccine messing with more than one cycle really. If you had sex on the 13th and sperm can live for 5 days it may have been slightly too early esp if you didn't test with first morning wee. I'm surprised you didn't take another test the following month just to be sure.

I think it's unlikely you made it three months with no other symptoms but it's possible so deff do another test

Definitely need to take a test op

No, I only took the one test. I haven't had any pregnancy symptoms whereas with my 1 year old I started having symptoms as early as 4 weeks so just assumed I wasn't. Gonna buy some more tests Smile

Thanks for the replies.
Oh gosh completely didn't think that the sperm can live up to 5 days and it may have been too early to test then Shock I haven't had any pregnancy symptoms whereas had a lot and early with my dd so assumed I was in the clear!
Going to pick up another test at the shop. Pray for me lol

I had symptoms with my first pregnancy from 3.5 weeks. I'm 7 weeks this time and minimal symptoms. Wouldn't know I was pregnant. Just saying lol

Thinking about it I have had cramps on and off but that's it I guess I won't know till I test

Any luck

I finally got round to testing this afternoon, very clear negative. So no idea about the missing periods lol!

Think you should see a doctor about the missing periods. Sounds like more than vaccine issues.

MerryGoRoundBrain · 12/09/2021 22:45

Definitely go see a doctor. I had some really serious period related issues post vaccine. There’s a separate thread about it if you want to search. Multiple specialists I’ve seen since actually agreed there is no other explanation than the vaccination. It doesn’t really help me hugely, I’m now severely anaemic and have a long way to recovery, it seems.
For those reasons, I sincerely believe that every woman experiencing any issues of such nature should get checked and make sure the issue is reported.
Hope you’re all sorted soon OP.

twolittleboysonetiredmum · 13/09/2021 19:58

Ironically, since commenting on here, my period is also missing in action and I’m really stressed! I’ve always been regular as clockwork until the vaccine and then I was getting periods every 18-22 days. Then nothing since august. I’ve done a test and I’m not pregnant but it’s now been 40 days since my last period. At what point do I worry? I’m 40 so potentially peri but unlikely with my family history and very coincidental timing with vaccine.
Have you decided what to do op?!

mummaelle · 16/09/2021 00:37

@twolittleboysonetiredmum It's strange isn't it. I have no idea what I'm going to do next, I'll probably arrange a phone call with my gp. If it's nothing to worry about I'll enjoy not bleeding 😂

I missed 2 cycles after my first vaccine it was a very strange time as I thought I might be pregnant too.

tabulahrasa · 16/09/2021 00:49

I missed two periods after my vaccine - then had one two weeks after it finally arrived, then it went back to my normal cycle.

twolittleboysonetiredmum · 16/09/2021 12:24

I’m trying to enjoy the lack of periods but have this constant fear I might be pregnant or something else is wrong! I feel a bit adrift without my cycle as well!
