Where’s my coil ?

Had a coil put in about 4 weeks ago to, hopefully, reduce periods. After a few days I checked for the strings, yes they were there. Checked twice recently and they’re not.
I’m not using it for contraception, so how soon should I ask the GP ?
I’ve got a coil fitting follow up call with the nurse on the 23rd, is it ok to wait until then ?

Phone sooner than 23rd!

My strings disappeared and the GP referred me for an ultrasound to make sure it hadn't moved (it was still where it should be).

Sometimes the strings can go up and wrap around your cervix, so you can try feeling there. If not, I would do the same as PP and phone GP for a check before the 23rd, just in case it has migrated somewhere it shouldn't. Mine came out with a heavy period after being in place for two years!

mine also bled out (or at least that's where we assume it went) but it was a particularly spectacular episode of bleeding! I would ring them as they can move and there's a risk of it perforating your womb.....but it's probably just the strings that have wriggled up.

The strings aren’t around my cervix, I gave it a good fiddle !
Thanks, I’ll phone sooner.
