Brief shooting pains in breast

Hi. I'm 54 and post menopausal. For the past few days I've been getting random shooting pains in, or under, my right breast, near the centre. They come and go really quickly, don't seem to relate to anything I am doing/not doing and I can't detect anything of concern lump wise. I do sometimes think the breast feels "heavy" if that makes any sense! I have for a while had a bit of what I think is mild muscle soreness on the outside of my right chest, but can't see how that it connected! Just wondered if anyone else has had similar? Any thoughts? I seem to keep having to go to the GP about random things at the moment (currently awaiting an appointment about increasing migraine frequency) and I'm getting concerned that they will think I'm a complete time waster! On the other hand....that poor Sarah Harding is in my mind.

I wouldn't give a toss what the G.P. thinks, go and get yourself checked out, I'm sure it's something harmless but your health is important and these things need taken seriously. Go and give yourself reassurance if nothing else x

This sounds hormonal - I got these when pregnant (very early in pregnancies) - are you menopausal?

HandScreen · 06/09/2021 18:53

Oops, just saw you're postmenopausal

Make an appointment and see your doctor. ALWAYS better to get checked by the professionals. A doctor should never think you're time wasting. Please go and get checked xx

Thanks for the responses. Guess I have to request another appointment!

I get these, I've had several all clear mammograms. They take my breath, but apparently nothing for real concern. Can your GP refer you to the breast clinic?

Same here. 47 and post menopausal. Has been going on 3 years, 2 clear mammograms and scans. Am now on amitriptyline to try and stop it.
