Low Oestradiol

I've always had slightly irregular periods even since I was a teen. I was on hormonal contraception until I was 27 or so and then had my daughter at 29. Since then they have been really irregular- cycles anywhere from 22 to 56 or more days. It took me 6 months TTC my daughter which is average. I've now been TTC for over 12 months and nothing. I have no symptoms of fibroids, periods aren't excessive, no pain etc. I was slightly overweight but losing weight currently (BMI was 27 now 24.9 now)

I've just had the results back from a blood test I ordered through a website (medichecks). My Oestradiol is low at 77. I also ordered thyroid bloods as well as I wasn't sure if I had hypothyroidism based on my symptoms but they were well within normal limits.

Has anyone had this and gone on to conceive naturally? Is this significantly low?

I haven't yet been to GP (although did mention irregular periods for something else gynae related last year). Should I bite the bullet and go now? I really hate trying to book an appt!

What day of your period cycle did you do your blood test?

MistySkiesAfterRain · 03/09/2021 18:44

I did my test on day 3 of my cycle with Thriva and they class lower than 45 pmol/L as low.

SuddenArborealStop · 03/09/2021 18:53

I did day 3 with let's get checked and they regarded 98 as low Hmm
Anyway I'm tracking for menopause not fertility and the doc says to look at all the results together , your other results look in range, did you get prolactin?

FusciasBright21 · 03/09/2021 19:40

It was a Day 3 test. Interesting that there's different cut off levels!

No I didn't do prolactin but the doctor's review that comes with the results recommended a repeat day 3 test in a few months and a day 21 test for progesterone and AMH.

I'm new to all of this so didn't really know which fertility test to do really. Just know something isn't right but didn't think it warranted a GP appt yet
