Weird health question

Hi, I’m 43 and over the past few weeks I’ve had a weird dull ache along the side of my right breast. This went and now I have it in my armpit. There are no obvious lumps or rashes. It comes and goes. Initially I thought I was after straining a muscle as in right handed. Anyone ever have anything like this?

I experienced the same as you OP a couple of years ago when I was 40. I saw my GP and was referred to the Breast Clinic as a precaution. Thankfully my mammogram and ultrasound scan came back clear. I have osteoarthritis in my neck and the Consultant at the Breast Clinic felt I was experiencing referred pain. The breast and armpit pain went after around 8 weeks but the Consultant warned me the pain could flair up again due to my osteoarthritis.

I would advise speaking to your GP for further advice and I hope all turns out okay for you too Flowers

I should have said my pain was constant and not intermittent as yours is x

Thanks for your reply. It’s a strange kind of ache. Nothing that requires painkillers etc when I changed bras it went from the side of my breast. So was thinking could it be the underwire poking in my armpit??

I'd say hormonal or ill fitting bra

Thank you. Could be hormonal, noticed the past few months my cycles are getting bout 7-8 days shorter. Peri menopausal??? Thanks again ladies, it’s great to hear suggestions I have not thought about. Ye are been so nice.

I also have this exact issue! I have no idea what it is, it’s sort of above the breast to the side.

I’ve had mine since April and some days it’s not noticeable and other days it is.

Does it hurt when you prod and poke? Like is it tender to the touch?

Bj100 · 03/09/2021 13:40

Hi, no it doesn’t hurt when I touch it. But I think I have made it worse as I keep checking to make sure there’s no lumps or bumps.
