anyone have experience with Ovarian cyst?

Suspect I have an ovarian cyst, I've had lower abdominal discomfort now for over three weeks, started 4 days after my last period and hasn't subsided since. It's located lower abdomen but slightly to the left.

My period was due 3 days ago and I'm late, I have ruled out pregnancy as had many negative tests.

The only other symptom I have is slight sickness at times (prompted me to test for pregnancy). Ive had swabs done and no infections, am waiting for an ultrasound but may take 6-8 weeks for appointment to come through.

Anyone else experience this? Or similar?

I had a very large dermoid cyst (22cm) some years back but yours weren’t the symptoms I had. Mine were severe abdo pain at night when the cyst was obvs pressing on other organs and problems passing wee. Abdomen also swollen, but I didn’t really notice that until GP pointed it out. Periods were very irregular, so wouldn’t have been able to say if they were a few days late or not. I was quite young so didn’t really realise that these things weren’t normal until I mentioned them to mum, who made appt with doc and I was in Hospital the following week having cyst removed!! I expect a smaller/different type of cyst might cause different symptoms so I don’t know how helpful my experiences are, sorry!

I had a small cyst less than 5cms. I didn't know I had it until it was found on a scan for something unrelated.

I don't think your symptoms necessarily mean a cyst.

Did your dr do an examination?

Has something like IBS been considered or any other bowel issues?

Hi OP, I had an endometrioma (chocolate cyst) on one ovary, and symptoms were pain during sex, and during certain movements - it wasn’t a constant. Mine was diagnosed with internal ultrasound and removed with keyhole surgery. Hope you get to the bottom of it - it’s so hard to get a diagnosis with pain in those parts.
