Delaying a period

Starling57 · 01/09/2021 18:46

Hi,
Has anyone ever taken something to stop a period?
I know there’s a pill you can take to stop a period from happening for a holiday etc.
If anyone has, were there any side effects before, during taking it it and afterwards?
Thanks x

I've tried, numerous times over several decades every now and then for events or holidays etc. Period just pushed it's way through anyway, albeit a day or two late. My body personally never responds to delaying tactics 🙄

Noristherone. You need a prescription for it.

Depends on your timeline here but rather than use it to delay the actual problem period I’d use it to delay the one before (or even the one before that). Side effects are usually during use, so if you knock the period before out by a week the subsequent ones should also follow suit/be back on track, and therefore out of the way of being a nuisance with no side effects. Can make you quite bloated and a bit moody, but doesn’t do that for everyone. However if you don’t know then the above method is less of a risk?

I’ve taken Noristherone- no period and no side effects. Smile

I've also taken it. You need to start it a few days before you're due then stop when you get home. Your period should start after a couple of days once you stop. The only issue I had was my period was much heavier afterwards.

I tried Noristherone but it made me very bloated and sluggish.

I’ve just taken my contraceptive pill without a break to delay my period before. I can normally hold it off for about 7-10 days but then it appears anyway unless I start taking 2 pills a day which is probably a bad thing to do.

I’ve taken norestherine a couple of times for events. I’m sure I got it without a prescription once from one of the pharmacies online.
You need a very regular cycle as you have to start taking it 3 days before you’re due on. It made me feel very bloated and like my period was due any moment.

DD took it to delay her period until after her D of E expedition. Worked well, but when her period did come afterwards it was very heavy and she had a day of bad period pain.
