For those of you who've heard it's awful, I'd just like to put my tuppence worth in.

It was 15 minutes out of my day.
It was painless.
It wasn't embarrassing.
It was for my benefit.
It was free on the NHS.

I would like to echo @Justmuddlingalong as I was screened 3 weeks ago

It was relatively painless (I have big breasts)
It was for my benefit and I got recalled just like 1 in 25 women do
I tried not to worry (I know too much)
I was seen within 3 days of recall, new more detailed cross section x-rays and then a detailed scan by a radiologist
Please never be afraid to attend, in my case the anomaly turned out to be 3 cysts on the chest wall I could never have felt on self examination
For the future they now have my baseline scans and X-rays for comparison
30 minutes that could save your life
