18 months post C-Section but still not right

I had my DD in Feb 20 but elective C-section. I have had pain ever since whilst DTD, on some occasions it has caused a bleed.

It doesn't matter whether I use lube etc, it is always so painful. It's caused issues with my partner as I hardly want to DTD at all anymore. I have a phone appointment booked with the GP. Ext week to see what to do next.

I think I want another baby but atm have no idea how I'll even be able to get through the act to conceive.

I did read that pain during & after sex is much more common with a section than a VB. Has anyone else had problems & how long did it last?

Are you bf?

Everdreamer1990 · 29/08/2021 19:35

No. Never did bf.

Are your smear tests up to date? I ask because I have had two sections, bleeding after second like you describe. Smear was late due to covid and second baby. I have a small polyp which is causing it and am waiting to have removed.

I had pain when dtd after my c-section, I mentioned it when I went for a smear test which was about a year after birth. The nurse said it was normal and should improve with time but said that if it was bothering me I should make an appointment to see the GP. It has got better, I'd say the last 6 months have been much improved (my baby is almost 2, so that gives you an idea of timeline!)

I only asked be issue bf can affect hormones and lubrication. I haven’t heard of the correlation and I’ve had two sections. I’d ask for gynae referral.

I had a smear a few weeks ago & all normal. Nice to know that it's not just me though & others have been through it. It just makes me feel so rubbish about myself.
