Ovarian Cyst

Hi I had some light spotting between periods and they were irregular this happened for about 2-3 months at the start of the year. I spoke to the dr and I went for an internal check up and as there were no issues i was referred for a scan. (Since then I have had no spotting for the past few months and my periods seem regular within 2-3 days) I am only aware of the dates as I started tracking them!
When I had the scan the person advised I had a small cyst which was quite common and a bit of an abnormal area on the ovary but he would talk to his colleague about whether I would go back for another scan. I called the drs for a follow up and the receptionist said I was booked in as my scan appeared abnormal. I’m now really anxious and not sure to expect!! I’m terrified I will have to have it removed or it’s something serious. I should have asked what he meant by abnormal but I just wanted to get out of there!!

Has anyone had anything similar?

Thanks!!

I couldn’t read and run.

A cyst was found on my ovary a couple of months or so ago.
I’m had an ultrasound and then an mri. There are still ongoing tests in my case.

Try not to worry too much. I worried so much I cried in the beginning but it changes nothing! I hope you don’t mind me saying this but my faith, family and friends are really keeping me comforted.

I do understand how worrying it can be but try she distract yourself from the worry, if possible. You’ll start to feel better then.

Most ovarian cysts are benign and a lot of them disperse with no need for intervention. I had a long history of this until they became problematic. I had one which became infected and I had to be operated on. It was the worst pain I've ever been in. This happened again and eventually I had a sub total hysterectomy at the age of 44. I'd had my dc by then and I welcomed it but a younger person, especially if they might be ttc would not be so accepting?
You can get ovarian cysts aspirated in hospital. I hope it works out OP.
