Just been quoted this amount to straighten my horrid teeth and slightly whiten them, why so expensive?

I did Smile Direct. Teeth are lovely and straight now. I have to wear a night brace, but it's no big deal. It takes around 18 months, but they are cheaper than Invisalign

They also give you a free tooth whitener light kit which you can use to whiten teeth

I'm doing Suresmile with my dentist. £2400 takes about 6 months and looks/seems the same as invisalign just without the Brand name.

Depends surely on the severity of the correction and time the treatment will take? I wanted Invisalign but was told it would probably take a minimum of 2 years to complete so am going with fixed braces. Costing about 5K though and that doesn’t include the composite bonding they do at the end!

Can I ask how much Smile Direct is please? I've seen the adverts

BergamotMouse · 22/08/2021 13:47

Really look into smile direct. I started it and quickly came into difficulty. Because the aligner covered my gum it reduced the blood flow and caused gum recession. You can speak to or see a dentist so have to send photos and 3 days later get an inadequate response.

I stopped and got my money back.

A year later I started Invisalign. See the dentist every 4 weeks and a much better process.

It's cheap for a reason.

Hi pixiecolour

Wow that is expensive! Where are you based? I’m starting Invisalign and I have been quoted 2495 with whitening at a private dental practice in Harrogate. I don’t live in Harrogate but it will be worth travelling to save the extra money. Could be worth researching different dentists to get quotes?

biggreenhouse · 26/04/2022 20:54

just in case any one revisits this thread. suresmile is great - same as invisalign but usually around 1k cheaper. you still visit your dentist for frequent check ups which is important. I've finished my 5 months treatment and am 100% happy with how it went.

Notbluepeter · 26/04/2022 21:05

I was told my teeth only needed a small adjustment, and then was also quoted 4k for Invisalign. Absolutely bananas.
