Hysterectomy and orgasm

Looking for any wisdom anyone can offer please.

Due a third CS on Monday and have been told that due to adhesions there is a fairly high chance that I'll need a hysterectomy afterwards.

I'm wondering whether or not this changes your ability to orgasm? Does it make any difference whether you retain your cervix or not?

I asked the surgeon but he just looked a bit blank and didn't really have an answer.

If I need one then I need one and the answer won't stop me having one, but I'd just like to be prepared in advance.

Can anyone who has had a hysterectomy add any wisdom please? I know it sounds petty in the grand scheme of things compared to dying of a postnatal haemorrhage, but it's important to me!

Thank you

I had a radical hysterectomy at 31, they took my cervix and the top of my vagina (cancer). Didn’t change sex or my ability to orgasm at all, menopause has a bit though but that’s 16 years down the line!

Good luck with the birth and your new baby💐

Hi,
I'm 37 & had a hysterectomy last year, including remaining ovary & cervix.
No difference to my sex life or ability to orgasm. I too was concerned about this pre op.

Good luck!
