Dark brown bleeding before the end of a pill pack

I take the yasmin pill which I've been taking for a couple of years with no problems. Woke up today with still 2 pills left in my pack and quite a bit of very dark brown discharge which has carried on throughout today. I've never had this before and I do feel a bit worried - it's never happened before, I've not missed a pill, and normally I take the 21 then wait a few days before having a normal breakthrough bleed.
I'm not in pain, only very very mild period feeling and my boobs have stopped aching - they normally ache a bit in the run up to my period and stop when it starts.
I'm alarmed by the colour and also the fact it's happened during my pill pack. Should I take the other 2 pills or stop for 7 days then start my next pack?
Does this warrant checking out - it's so hard to get a GP appt anyway.
Im 35, nearly 36 and I have 2 children already but im way past childbirth etc.

Yes I’ve had this the last 2 months. Mine is Yaz though, not Yasmin. Definitely take the last two pills regardless.

I thought maybe it was linked to the Pfizer vaccine as I heard a lot of people report changes to their cycle after Pfizer. Would that apply to you?

I have heard of the Pfizer vaccine doing strange things and it the jab I had but I had my doses in April and May so I don't think I fall into that

I’m not on the same pill as you but I occasionally get this kid way through taking a packet but it’s quite light. I’ve been to the docs a couple of times to question it & they’ve not been concerned. Apparently if it happens after sex it can be a worry.
I’m peri menopausal though so not sure if it’s my age messing me up a bit too

I wouldn’t worry, it’s normal

JuliaBlackberry · 18/08/2021 19:27

Thank you. I've heard that dark brown blood is less concerning than bright red blood at the wrong time so that's some reassurance. It's not after sex either, It's Just never happened before, not in recent memory anyway.
