Period affected by vaccine

Hi everyone! Just after some advice please. I’m 40 and double vaccinated with AZ. After my first vaccine my period was a couple of weeks late, but when it did arrive it lasted nearly 3 weeks (I’m normally a 5 day girl) and was EXTREMELY heavy. I then had spotting for a couple of weeks before the same thing happened again. I spoke to NHS direct who said it was likely to get better. I’m now 4 cycles on and it’s slightly better but not back to normal. Periods lasting longer than normal, much heavier than normal and spotting in between. Apparently 13,000 reports have been made via the yellow card system (including me!) Has anyone else had similar symptoms? And does anyone know how long before things return to normal? I’m very very grateful to be vaccinated, but getting a bit fed up with my cycle being so haywire now!!! TIA x

Hi! My cycles have been messed up too after astra zeneca jab. The period after the 2nd jab ( in May) was like 10 days early and very heavy. Mine are usually heavy ( esp after having kids) but that one was exceptional !! Since then I have always spotted mid cycle; like an extra light period for about 5 days ; bang on the 11th day. I thought the vaccine effects would only be for 1 cycle but I ve already had 3 cycles with symptoms. I guess no one really knows for how long the effects would last. I also have a polyp which is causing the symptoms but it s a big coincidence that the symptoms got worse after the vaccine.

Me too! I had my second AZ last Monday when my period was almost due. It turned up 5 days late and has been agony and so heavy I’ve taken two days off work. I’ve never been a single day late for a period (bar being pregnant) for 21 years. We’re finally TTC again after two miscarriages this year so I really hope this is temporary 😥

4 periods in the last 2 months. Lasting longer too.

I have yellow carded it too.
