Waiting time for a colposcopy?

Friend of mine who is not on MN has been asked to attend for the above after her smear.

Any idea of the expected waiting times? She has private insurance through work so is wondering if it's better to go that way.

In Nov 20, I was contacted on the Monday for a colposcopy and had the appointment on the Friday.

Thanks @MrsPnut

Hope you are okay?

She wondered if it might be weeks /months bearing in mind the NHS backlog. It could be a 2-3 week wait privately anyway.

I got the smear results back after 7 weeks, and the appointment letter 7 weeks after that. The appointment was 3 days later. Appointment was last week, so very recent! Hope that helps!

I just had a colonoscopy through medical insurance within 6 days. Not sure on NHS but the gastroenterologist appointment was months.

If she has private insurance I would definitely use it.
