Bleeding every week, dull ache in back and uterus 7 months after implant

Hi all,

I am freaking out a little bit. I had a baby and had the implant contraception put in about 8 months ago. I bled a little on and off initially, but nothing for 6 months. Then about a month ago I started bleeding again. Very light. Enough to mess up my knickers but not for using a tampon. Cramps happen also. This has been happening almost every week since. I did call my GP and sent in a swab and have an appointment next week for a look at my womb (fun), but since I called I now have persistent dull ache in my uterus and lower back much like a period, but no bleeding now.

Has anyone had this before? Is it possible to start getting side affects so many months after incision. I am starting to freak out about cervical cancer and been feeling lousy and unwell this week now too.

I’ve not had an implant so don’t know if this can happen but you’ve done the right thing in contacting your GP.

The GP has ordered swabs so perhaps they are thinking that this is an infection. I’d try to think of it like this also and try to do things you would do if you have an infection like eat healthily, don’t drink alcohol and rest (if you ever can with a baby).
