Warning: photo - weird, hard blood clot

Sorry for the grim photo but I’m at the end of my period and this came out last night. It fell in the loo and sank straight to the bottom - fished it out for a better look (sorry, but I did warn you this was gross).

The texture is hard although the outside has some ‘give’; not at all the soft, jelly-like consistency of normal period blood clots. It’s definitely blood though.

The edges look quite defined too.

I have a telephone appointment with a GP today, but not sure how helpful that will be!

Curious. No idea OP, just a helpful bump

Is it cast?

Thanks all - have looked at images of decidual casts and don’t think it can be that as it seems too ‘defined’ and the wrong colour, if that makes sense.

It doesn’t look like an early miscarriage does it? Confused

I was feeling really woozy and sick a week or so ago, but put that down to being on the keto diet.

In theory I suppose I could have got pregnant, though it seems very unlikely as we were using protection.

I don't know. I wouldn't have thought it would be hard like that but I could be wrong.

You could do a pregnancy test to rule it out?
