PCOS treatment cost

I was recently diagnosed with PCOS. I've been trying to conceive for a year and a half now so I have been referred to fertility. The doctor warned me that any examination they do will be free but because I already have one child, any medication or IVF treatment would cost, I'm just wondering if anybody knows how much the medication is as I strongly believe I will be offered this where I have only had 1 period so far this year. The doctor said 'she can't say for sure but the last time she remembers it was around £300?? What is the medication like ? What are the side effects of it ?

I shouldn't have named it PCOS treatment as it's not able to be cured, but PCOS medication :)

I was prescribed clomid. It cost £100 but that was years ago though, so not sure how much it would be now. Worked straight away though, first time in fact, and that was with both my kids. I was already taking metformin before that as well, which should help whether your ttc or not. Hope that’s some help
