Hoping someone has been in a similar situation and can shed some light on what could be going on ?
Had a copper coil fitted June 28th.
Wasn't painful , I had very light cramping and spotting.
The best contraception I've had ! All others I've had reactions to.
Finished my first period on the coil 4/5 days ago. It was so painful and the cramps where like mini contractions! Bleeding was lighter but went on for longer .
I checked my strings before my period I could feel both, great .
Yesterday out with friend and I had really bad cramps in my back.
Checked my strings last night as I'm not due my period so no reason why I should have cramp, and 1 has gone... vanished ! And on the outside of my cervix I had 2 hard lumps .
The cramp is getting worse.
I called my GP & was told the nurse who deals with contraception isn't back in until Thursday . & to call the local family planning clinic .
Called family planning, receptionist booked me in for a call. The nurse told me on the call they couldn't see me until Monday to see if my coil had moved.
I accepted the appointment for Monday .
She also told me they would not give me any emergency contraception until they have confirmed my coil has moved . (Which would be to late by then)
I've now been to my local chemist and bought it thank god.
I'm really concerned about waiting until next week incase it does damage ! & what the lumps are , could it be the coil working itself out? Has anyone else experienced their coil moving ?
