Hey everyone I’m a mum of 2 and new to Mumsnet. I was wondering I f you could give me advice.

So I was diagnosed with very bad tonsillitis as was given some antibiotics I was on these for 5 days before I was forced to stop last night due to sickness and toilet trips and stomach pain/burning.

Went back to doctors today and she’s put me on new antibiotics I said about my stomach pain and burning and she said that should subside in a few days as antibiotics disrupt the natural balance of your gut so it takes a few days for it to get back into shape !

Do you think I should wait a couple of days before starting new antibiotics as my stomach is uncomfortable and burning slightly and I know the doctor said it will go away soon so I don’t want to aggravate it more by taking them.

No, definitely not you need to knock the infection on the head before it escalates.

Are you following the instructions to the letter when taking it? Some drugs need food and a full glass of water or they irritate.

Try taking one of those probiotic yogurt drinks daily while you're on the tablets.
