Late period after covid vaccine

Has anyone else found that the COVID vaccine has messed with their menstrual cycle? I’m now 9 days late! And no I’m not pregnant.
My friend said she was a week late after her jab. Literally no sign of AF here though.

Just checked and I got vaxxed before ovulation so I guess it’s delayed ovulation

I’m also 7 days late after getting mine on 19th June. Starting to panic a bit although there is no chance I’m pregnant.

Not sure if it is vaccine related to be honest, as my last period before the jab was late as well!

MissC07 · 24/07/2021 21:23

I had my first vaccine in May (Pfizer) and am now on CD82 with nothing. I had my second vaccine today so will be interesting to see what happens!

Azra12 · 24/07/2021 21:31

I've had the AZ & my first period was 10 days late this time around I've started 11 days after finishing- Normally my periods are like clockwork and always on time

bleachblondemom · 25/07/2021 13:05

Mines just arrived today, 12 days late!

Not very pleasant as expected from others that have had the jab and then their period.

Noshowlomo · 25/07/2021 21:43

I’m 23 days late… I just want it to arrive now! Dreading it !!

megletthesecond · 25/07/2021 21:47

You need to report it via the yellow card system.
yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk/

lms2017 · 25/07/2021 21:51

Yes I suffer with daily hormonal migraines they are just about managed with the pill however half hour after my jab , I got cramps, blurry eyes and was in bed for 4 days with a severe migraine it brought on my first period in 9 months ( I take the pill to stop periods all together to help my head)
no injections or meds stopped the migraine like it usually would. Since that jab my pill hasn't done the trick like it was before and I am back to daily migraines. Dreading my next jab!

bleachblondemom · 26/07/2021 09:08

I have reported it. Doubt the relevant people will take any notice

Both my friend and i had late, v light periods two weeks after our second pfizer jab. Both took pregnancy tests and were negative. Both later found out we ovulated late and are both pregnant (thankfully for both of us it was wonderful news). I didn't find out til i was 7 weeks along and she didn't til she was about 5.5 weeks along. in both cases that was for the best.

bleachblondemom · 26/07/2021 10:01

@Bells3032 congratulations! That was an exciting twist wasnt it 😄

So perhaps vax makes you more fertile rather than less? Wonder what the conspiracy theorists would make of that Grin

I can see the viral tweet now, and the follow up article in the Sun…

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/07/2021 07:13

I didn’t have any changes on the Oxford one.

bleachblondemom · 30/07/2021 22:54

Nearly 3 weeks now! Seriously??? How long am I meant to wait… should I get a doctors appointment? Ridiculous that they don’t even recognise this as a side effect. If the vaccine caused erectile dysfunction it would be top of the list.

12 days late for me. I hadn’t connected the dots till This week as I’m 50 so peri age. I feel bloated and crampy like I’m about to come on but nothing is happening.

Weirdly After my second jab I had a day of flu symptoms and terrible period pains, but not bleeding.

ladymuck111 · 04/08/2021 08:46

I had my second dose of AZ three weeks ago. For the last couple of days I've been getting quite intense period pains but no period. I don't tend to have periods as I'm on the mini pill and that stops them.

I feel rough, it feels like I should be having a monster period but I'm not 😩. Not sure if it is vaccine related or not but I am beginning to wonder if there is a connection.

supadupapupascupa · 05/08/2021 07:37

Update: first period after 2nd jab was very late and almost non existent. I can report that the next one was on time and in full

Veronika13 · 05/08/2021 08:40

I had a 5 day delay, VERY painful period- was awake 1-6am with pain, walking around the house all night trying not to wail 🥺

The next cycle out of interest I bought ovulation test around ovulation time (it cost me $40 but I wanted to know) - and I ovulated fine.
So my body is back to normal.

Four4me · 05/08/2021 08:47

I've had a textbook cycle since 14, 4 pregnancies, breastfeeding, back to completely textbook.
Pfizer vaccine. Second jab in April, missed a complete month.
When I tell anyone they say it's my age (44), I'm convinced it was the vaccine, as I felt like AF was coming as normal. Then total no show. I yellow card' it.
Back to normal now though. Thanks

Redcrayons · 05/08/2021 09:28

At what point does it become a yellow card issue? Nearly 3 weeks late, got period pains, bloating, PMT. But no bleeding.

Even more annoying I’m waiting for first day of period to start HRT. It’s taken me five years to convince the GP that I’m old enough, suffering enough, not depressed. FFS

MissC07 · 05/08/2021 19:52

Just an update from me, I now haven't had a period in 93 days. Have had both my first and second vaccine and absolutely nothing since having them.

bleachblondemom · 05/08/2021 20:09

@MissC07 that’s a long time :/ it’s hard to know whether to bother seeing a GP though, I mean what could they even do? But if it’s worrying you then you have every right to ask a doctor

OP posts:
MissC07 · 05/08/2021 20:11

@bleachblondemom I phoned my doctor the other week who sent me for blood tests and a scan. Confirmed I have PCOS (I usually have 40 day cycles) but this is just so out of the norm 😔

Treezan82 · 05/08/2021 20:24

I've had both Pfizer jabs and neither made any difference to my menstrual cycle - came on at the usual time.
