Colposcopy/ biopsy found CIN1-2 so Lletz it is. Am on holiday (UK) the next day- should I expect much pain/bleeding?

I don't remember getting much bleeding or pain afterwards

Sparklytori · 14/07/2021 19:23

Hi. I had the procedure last Wednesday. I didn't bleed much at all... even the nurse said when she did it I didn't bleed much... however 2 days later went onto get my period so it's hard to tell! Day after I felt a bit crampy.
Hope all goes well for you.

I had a lot of cramp on the day itself but was fine the next day.

You won't be able to do swimming etc.... for a few weeks after LLETZ so if its that sort of holiday could you maybe postpone? Bleeding wasn't too bad, but I got a lot of brown discharge for about 5-6 weeks afterwards and then also some kind of scabby things come away after about 4 weeks. I was assured this was all totally normal and nothing to worry about. Cramp type pain for a day or so but painkillers worked on it. I have had 3 LLETZ treatments in total over 20 years.

I didn't have much bleeding and only mild/moderate cramping.
What was strange for me is that I didn't even know I'd had it done until years later when I had another procedure and the consultant read it from my notes.
I thought it was all part of the colposcopy process.

I had one last week and I'm still having discharge now. It was a bit crampy for the first day or two.
As a PP said, you can't have baths, swim or insert anything vaginally for 4 weeks after.
Good luck. Hope it goes well. It's good to get these things dealt with early.

Oh yes, weeks of discharge, had forgotten about that! Lovely.

Thanks everyone, sounds manageable but will miss my baths!
