Being diagnosed with a huge fibroid. In horrific amounts of pain and bleeding. Seems impossible to get an appointment with my doctor to discuss hospital findings. Just being precribed variety of tablets via phone with no explanation of their use. Referred me to gynae but appointment not through til start of Sept. Has any one else had this. Pain is spreading through to band from stomach and I'm very concerned about being in increased pain for this time. Has anyone had similiar? Thanks for any thoughts

I've got fibroids. I suffered with heavy bleeding and flooding, passing large lumps of stuff which looked like liver. I would flood when I was out with my children and it was embarrassing and inconvenient.

My gynaecologist wanted me to have a hysterectomy but I felt I was too young and he said it would be instant menopause.

The alternative was to have the Mirena coil fitted. Never looked back and not a moment's bother. Best thing I ever did really. and it is still there even though I am much older.

Good points. I think mine needs to go. It's huge and pressing on my bladder.

I have a fibroid the size of an onion OP but since having the coil fitted it has shrunk. I never have any pain or discomfort ever.

What are the risks of prolapse after hysterectomy?.
