Hello everyone!

I’m just looking for anyone with a similar experience/ advice as I am a very health anxious person and cannot stop worryingSad!

I’m 26 years old and have been on the combined pill cilest for the last 6 years. 10 months ago it changed to generic cilique as manufacturing stopped making it.

In the past I have had 2/3 episodes of odd breakthrough bleeding which I never found out the reason for. I got a Pap test 16 months ago which came back normal. However the past 2 months I have had 1 day of light spotting (red) mid cycle. I’m so worried!

I went to the doctor who sent me for a pelvic ultrasound which came back normal. I asked about another Pap test and she said I didn’t need one. Does this sound correct? I’m so worried they are missing something critical and cannot stop thinking about it :/

If you are in the U.K. the lab won’t test the sample if you attend for a smear test too early.
Have another chat with the GP to see if they can put your mind at rest, swap your contraception or, if needed, refer to gynae.

Long spells on the combined pill can cause bleeding
Happened to me and it stopped as soon as I stopped taking it

Some pills can cause a breakthrough bleed. I had this when I changed to a generic pill as well.

I'd see about coming off the pill for a bit first

I did one online myself from Superdrug as I always worry due to having severe dysplasia in my 20s.
