My 4 year old has tonsillitis about 2 weeks ago which I caught. I was so poorly and it was so tough as I'm a single mum to 2 incl a 1 year old who breast feeds. Anyway I have antibiotics and for over it after a few days. Son finished his antibiotics on Monday. It it's flared up again terribly and he's now on new antibiotics 5 days later. I've now got a soar throat again. Please tell me I can't catch it again seeing how I've already had it?! Feeling so overwhelmed as they both have just been constantly unwell and not sleeping for weeks now!
Sorry for the pitiful post, freaking out. Ds is feeling better which is obviously the main thing ♥️

It's possible that your infection didnt fully go away last time and you might need a stronger antibiotic to stop it.
I've been there with recurring tonsillitis and its really tough and gets you down. Flowers for you.

Sounds like a secondary infection and that it didn't go away properly the first time. Contact the GP again.

Thank you both! I'll give 111 a call tomorrow as I really don't want it to flare up like it did last time again 😰 or can tonsillitis clear up on its own?

I wouldnt take the chance OP especially if you have been run down anyway. You need to recover quickly with your little ones to look after.
