Random bleeding thru month?

I had my.baby 10 months ago. My periods returned about 8 weeks after the birth. Since then they've been so random. I have random bleeding when I wipe. Ranges from little specks to a lot. I have a period about every 6 weeks. And it lasts about 5 days. I finished my period on Tuesday just gone. Gone to the loo and there's a lot of blood again. I've put a.pad on but usually there's nothing on the pad after a few hours. I've taken a pregnancy test which was negative. I expected it to be. I'm not.on any contraception. I had a smear 4 months ago which was normal..the bleeding comes and goes. I rang the gp but they didn't seem that interested and getting an appointment is near impossible

Don't be fobbed off by your GP.

You need to go back to them and put things in the strongest possible terms. Say you are regularly getting a lot of abnormal bleeding (think about it, that is the truth) and insist on a referral to a gynaecologist. Also insist on getting an ultrasound scan done.

You need to know what might be causing this.

This has been happening to me!
I also had my baby 10 months ago.
Got my period back around Dec & it was kind of regular, no spotting.
However, my last period was 2 weeks early & this month I've now been spotting for a week.

I had my Pfizer jab 2 weeks ago so wondering if this spotting may be related but I have also suffered with bleeding between periods last year 18 months after I had my first child.
I went to the GP and she put it down to hormones due to breastfeeding.

I'm going to see how it goes & perhaps go back to the GP but last time they didn't seem too worried & put it down to hormones. My smear also came back fine & all through pregnancy & until my period came I had no spotting or random bleeding.
It is very annoying though!!

As pp said, it’s abnormal bleeding. Go back and push for a gynae referral.
Do you get bleeding after sex ?

wiggleshasmylife · 30/06/2021 09:16

Yeah always get bleeding after sex. Ranges from a few spots on toilet paper to almost a full pads worth if I put one on.

I rang the gp this morning to be very fobbed off. Told my smear was normal and that it's not an emergency and my body is still adjusting from having a baby. So fed up

You need a change of GP if possible.

You could have an erosion on your cervix causing the post sex bleeding (which isn’t a worry but needs dealing with).
Ask to speak to a female GP and say it’s affecting you self esteem and your relationship with your partner.
