Where is my period?!!!!

Hi,

Regular as clockwork period has not arrived and is now a week late. Where is it?! I've ruled out pregnancy, and I'm not overly stressed, although getting more so the longer this goes on. Vaccine related? Possibly. I have had a period since my vaccine which was one day late, but this is a week now. Age? I'm 42, so I suppose changes could be starting.

My periods are usually heavy to a really problematic level, so I plan my life around them. It's being investigated, and I'm due an internal scan, which I don't want to do during it. So I've put it off. I've got a camping trip with the kids in a couple of weeks, which I'd timed perfectly. Or so I thought. DH doesn't understand why this is bothering me, but with how heavy they are, I need the predictability of when they'll happen.

Anything I can do to bring it on? If the rain stops, I'm going outside to bounce on the trampoline. And I might do the school run in white jeans with nothing to tie around my waist. That should do it, right? Any other tricks I've not thought of?

Has it turned up yet OP? Mine is also AWOL but I'm a bit older than you so most probably age related for me. I'm starting to get really fed up now, over a week late and I've put on 4 pounds practically overnight - feel like I'm carrying a bloody watermelon around in my stomach.

I'm 43 and mine buggered off for 8 weeks after the covid jab

DinosaurDiana · 27/06/2021 12:34

Put your white shorts on and go roller skating, that’s sure to bring it on 🤣

I find the longer days during the summer mess up my cycle. I was 2 weeks late last month but it arrived in the end. I think there's definitely something in it as air hostesses say all the travelling between time zones plays havoc with menstruation.

Sometimes I get very light periods in the summer and sometimes they don't turn up for weeks.

Maizzee · 02/07/2021 14:26

Still nothing! 2 weeks late and counting. I have my second jab in a few days. What might that do?

Planning on going for a roller skate tomorrow in white leggings.....

All joking aside, this is really beginning to get to me. I'm usually regular, which is the only way I can cope with the heaviness. Is all that blood just building up, ready to unleash hell at any moment? I've been asking for an ablation for a while, I need a long term solution.

I made a thread a few days ago about mine being late after my vaccine. It was really worrying me too. It's arrived now, 2 times heavier and more painful then usual...fun

DaxtheDestroyer · 02/07/2021 14:42

It could be vaccine related, it could be the start of peri menopause. Mine went haywire at the same age, having been absolutely regular as clockwork beforehand. Lots of investigations at GP to check other causes before agreeing it was menopause. I'm 47 now and pretty much through the other side. On the young side, but it's possible.

Roonerspismed · 02/07/2021 14:42

Please please can you all yellow card? It’s still being said these chambers are coincidental and it’s not being taken seriously

DonLewis · 02/07/2021 14:45

Could you be deficient in vitamin d? The only time in my life I've missed a period that wasn't pregnancy related was when I was deficient in vitamin d...

HelenHywater · 02/07/2021 14:48

My periods were really messed up by the Pfizer vaccine. I missed one each time. Could it be that?

1happyhippie · 02/07/2021 14:51

Mines late this month also.
Mine are like clockwork (I’m usually on around the same time as dd) hers has been and gone.
I do have cramping, like it’s about to start but nothing.
I had my vaccine 4 weeks ago and was due the week after, so 3 weeks late now and still nothing!
I am also 42

Maizzee · 02/07/2021 16:21

I filled in the yellow card thing a few days ago. And yes, it could be the start of the menopause. I just wish I knew!

At least I don't have my fertility to worry about. If I was 10 years younger and this happened, I'd be really worried.

Don't want to jinx it, but I think things are finally kicking off...

A couple of months ago my cycle was double its normal length. No idea why (I’m 39). Since then back to normal length. Was before my jab too. Definitely not pregnant as I had a scan for other reasons two days before it started - said my lining was thick, no reason it hadn’t started so must have been hormonal.
