Hello

I would appreciate some advice please.

Every time in recent months, just before I start my period, I get these symptoms and it's really debilitating.

Tummy pain
Light headed
Suddenly hot and sweating
Need to lie down

This morning I took my bp during an episode and it was 43/42 heart rate 46. After the worst had past (it comes and goes over several hours) my bp had risen to 68/50 hr 47.

If I see the gp can they give me something I can take when this happens? I can't even get my children ready for school as I need to lie down.

Thanks for any advice.

43/42 is physiologically impossible. 68/50 is also pretty unlikely to be accurate (especially if you were conscious). Your symptoms may still be due to low BP but whatever you’re using to measure it isn’t measuring accurately. You probably need to see/speak to your GP.

Thanks for your reply. I was using a home bp monitor that is in good working order. I hardly believed the readings myself but apparently such readings are possible. My readings are 90/70 now so normal. I did some research online and it sounds like I am having vasovagal episodes. I will seek advice from my gp.
