Retained Placenta? NSFW

I’m 5 weeks pp and have passed what looks like part of my placenta. I don’t have any bleeding after it’s passed and no fever. I feel fine apart from some mild stomach pains but I’m not sure if that’s from the placenta or from a bad curry I had the night before that gave me some bad diarrhea. I have contacted triage who told me to call back if things get worse. I won’t lie, it kind of freaks me out because no one has even asked to see the photo I’ve taken. I also don’t know how I feel about waiting until I’m worse? Has anyone passed their placenta pp and have been totally fine? Or should I be demanding to be seen?

I passed a huge clot after having my little boy and I was still in the hospital at the time and I had to ring the buzzer and the midwife said it looked suspicious and she needed to take it away and have it checked. She said if it was placenta I’d need to go into theatre to make sure there was no more. She came back 15 mins later and said thankfully it wasn’t placenta just a blood clot. I’m
Not sure why they arnt too worried because they were when it happened to me and were ready to rush me down to theatre. How big was it? Has there been anymore since?

Well I had a section and my bleeding stopped at 4days pp. however it came back big time with clots on day 10 and is still sporadically going! I’ve been given co amoxiclav but I’m concerned that whatever the scan showed was still in there, needs to be removed. I’m glad you’re ok x

I passed a piece of cord a few weeks pp I had already been to theatre to have a manual placenta removal I still had a retained piece they were quite blasé about it said watch for symptoms if there is nothing it was probably a rogue piece she missed

Never really told me what symptoms and it was 8 years ago im sort of still here so 🤷 I guess there gamble paid off
