2 missed periods - negative tests

I've currently missed 2 periods, previous cycles were on average every 35 days so very strange for this to be happening.. I'm booked in for a blood test and a scan in the next couple of weeks but I'm just preparing myself for what they will find.. has anyone known there to be nothing wrong? Panicking a little bit 😬
Doctor thinks I'm pregnant - it would be great but I don't think I am, no symptoms and lots of negative tests!
Thank you in advance!

If you're not pregnant, then it could be PCOS. PCOS can cause long cycles; I've gone up to 6 months without a period. Do you know what the blood tests and scans are for?

Have you had the covid jab. My periods went awol for 2 months

SoupDragon · 19/06/2021 14:49

I was going to ask about the Covid jab too.

@Hopeislost I think just to see what's going on! Doctor seems to think I'm pregnant and made a point of saying she's added HCG into the checklist and if I get any pain or a positive test in the meantime that I have to ring her back 🙄😂 she doesn't think I can PCOS as I don't have excess hair or spots which I don't think is fair to rule it out just because I don't have them.. I'm definitely swaying towards PCOS!

@Fruityfriday @SoupDragon I've had both! Periods were fine after the first & I was already late when I had my second one but I was thinking it could be that also.. if my results come back fine then I'll have to put it down to the second dose of the Covid jab!

Bmi in the healthy range ?

LittleRedPill · 19/06/2021 15:36

Have you lost weight recently? Or are you exercising intensively? Both of those can cause periods to stop temporarily.

@MissM94 Spots and excess hair can be symptoms of PCOS, but are not everyone has them. Diagnosis is based on meeting two of the following criteria:

  1. irregular or infrequent periods
  2. hormonal imbalance (usually high testosterone) from blood tests
  3. cysts seen on a scan
