Prolonged ovulation pain

Hi

I never experienced ovulation pain (that I am aware of) until after the birth of my second child. Now every month (been going on 5 cycles now) I get a dull left sided pelvic ache that lasts around 4 days which I’m assuming is associated with ovulation as af usually arrives a couple of weeks later. I’m not sure if I should be worried or not, given I never used to experience ovulation pain at all or that it lasts for quite a few days at a time. I keep wondering if I have a cyst or something which is making ovulation painful now. Don’t really want to sound daft at the doctors if it’s just a normal post pregnancy change.

Has anyone else experienced this after having children?

Mid cycle pain should always be checked out to establish the root cause. Do seek medical attention and if the GP can offer no suggestion then I would ask for a referral to a gynaecologist.

Thank you @AttilaTheMeerkat - I will give the GP a call and see what they say. Day 6 now and still niggling, seems too long to be ovulation surely.

I have had similar for years… only just sought medical help though, which is a bit silly of me, but I always assumed it was my “normal”! I get it in the right side though, also bloating and discomfort in my stomach. A scan showed my right ovary was enlarged, so I’ve had blood tests and an mri to look what’s going on in there, just waiting for the results now. It’s so debilitating and I’m keen to get it sorted now.

Fingers crossed for your scan results that it is nothing serious but something which. Am be treated to alleviate your pain @nomorespaghetti

Pain came back again this month so after some prodding from the doctor, I am being referred for an ultrasound to check my ovaries. Thank you for the push to go get it checked out.

@Ohthereyouarepeter hey I was just wondering how you were getting on?

I'm suffering from pain too (similar to yours) waiting for my appointment since June! 🤦🏼‍♀️
