Natural remedies for periods

Has anyone found anything natural that helps make periods easier? Mine are extremely painful and seem to be getting worse. They last 10 days with varying flow. 1-2 days tend to be heavy, with changing towel every 20-30 mins at the worst. I can cope with the flow, although it can be a nuisance, but the pain and exhaustion is another matter.

I'm 42 and limited as to what I can/want to do medically.

Any ideas appreciated!

larabriden.com/
you may find this helpful. ....she has a book out which is well worth the money!

You may want to fetch your iron levels and b12 levels checked if your periods are heavy.

You need a diagnosis first and foremost, not necessarily natural remedies. Periods should not be extremely painful at all and its not something you should have to put up with (and I have had both heavy and painful periods for many years, in my case the cause was endometriosis).

How helpful has the GP been here?. Have you ever seen a gynae?. You ought to be seeing a gynae for such issues because endometriosis can cause both painful periods and heavy bleeding to arise.

Thanks all, the Lara Briden site looks great, definitely going to read that and look into the book.

I've seen a gynae. Scan was possible adenomyosis and I do suspect endometriosis too (my sister has it). I need to lose more weight before I can consider having a laparoscopy. For various reasons I don't want/can't have prostap/mirena so keen to look at natural alternatives for now.
