Smelly brown period??

NC for this one for privacy!

Background that may or may not be relevant, but 1) I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks in February. Period came back six weeks later, and I'm now on my third cycle, and 2) I had my first Pfizer covid jab two weeks ago.

Period started today, bang on time, and it's really smelly, and the blood looks brown and old, not red as usual. Any thoughts on whether this is something to be concerned about or just one of those things, possibly jab related? I feel completely healthy in myself, other than usual mild period cramps, temperature is normal and negative lateral flow test this morning.

I would want the GP to check it, especially with the smell. Older blood on itself wouldn't worry me - I usually get some of that, but the smell would make me want it checked in case of infection.

Sounds like an infection or something up there that shouldn't be (when I had those symptoms it was a forgotten tampon - I was a teenager - YUCK). Worth getting it checked out.

Thanks, the smell was the thing that was concerning me, but wasn't sure if it was worth bothering over. I'll make an appointment. Was about to start moaning about how long it would be at the GP, then remembered my work has a 24/7 online GP thingy, so will try that!
