Possible infection 2 weeks after surgery (TMI)

I had endometrial ablation and sterilisation 2 weeks ago tomorrow, have had quite a bit of pain since, bleeding and discharge. Was feeling a bit better a few days ago and then started getting a lot of lower abdominal pain, I had what I thought was my period but am now passing brown discharge which smells (rotting smell). I am away on holiday but heading home tomorrow. Does it sound like a infection? Has any one else had similar symptoms after the same procedures?

Do you have a temperature?

No temperature bit it takes a lot for me to get one. My lower stomach feels warm though. I am taking Diclofenac so that might possibly be masking a temperature?

It sounds similar to the infection I had after a hysterectomy. I had black discharge and it smelt like a cat litter tray that hadn't been changed in weeks. It would be worth calling 111 and seeing if you can speak with a doctor. Mine took six days to identify as a post op infection by which time I was really unwell, needed several days in hospital on IV antibiotics and weeks of follow-up antibiotics.

Yeah that sounds like endometritis, an infection of the womb. I had it after my csection, same symptoms. You really need to see a doctor asap and get prompt treatment with antibiotics, it progresses to sepsis.

Thank you, we are going to head home this morning and I will call gp for antibiotic. I had a infection after having dd1 after they left some placenta behind, the smell is very similar.
