Mirena string just seen on floor in shower

Help had mirena coil put in on 17th of may so a week and a half ago. Started my period today and noticed a bit of string in the shower on the floor. I’m panicking it’s come out. I had it put in at the hospital as I’ve had loads of gynae problems. Booked to have it checked by a nurse next week. Any positive answers ? Xx

Well mine came out twice.twice.both it was pulled out by very large clots. I think you would see it though..it'd unlikely to have gone down the plug hole.

If you have a rummage you should be able to feel the strings if it's still there.

Are you certain it’s the string from the coil? It’s very unlikely the coil wouldn’t come out with the string so the plastic T would be out too. The string looks like plastic fishing line more than string. Can you feel your own strings normally?

Aren’t you taught how to check the strings when having it fitted?

Thank you for your reply’s. No one really said anything about the strings. It was put in by the consultant and he just rushed off at the end. The string didn’t look very plastic. Hopefully I’m worrying over nothing . Not sure I want to check when I’m on my period. I really hoped the mirena would make things better but I know it’s early days.

for the short time I had mine mine in it made a big difference. .I hope yours does too.
